Black City

Black City Studio is Ghana’s most advanced and only internationally accredited recording facility. Launched earlier this year, the studio represents a transformative step for West Africa’s creative economy, pairing world-class acoustics with a powerful story of perseverance, self-reliance, and technical mastery.


Built entirely through more than 15 years of self-funding and visionary craftsmanship by founder Ralph Casely-Hayford, the studio is now entering a new era under the management of his son Joseph Casely-Hayford, a highly respected sound engineer known for his precision, versatility, and deep technical understanding of modern audio production.
Together, they represent two generations of excellence, one that built the foundation, and one that is expanding its global reach.
